The Federal Asian Pacific American Council (FAPAC) was founded in 1985. It is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization representing the civilian and military Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) employees in the Federal Government and the District of Columbia.

FAPAC Southwest is the Southwest Chapter of FAPAC National.

FAPAC Southwest is organized exclusively for educational purposes within the provisions of Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The primary purpose of FAPAC is to serve as an interagency association within the Federal Government, providing a focus for over thirty ethnically distinct groups, originating from the Asia-Pacific Region, as recognized by the United States Census Bureau.
